CSA~ Community Supported Agriculture
UPDATE- due to the growing concern surrounding the Coronavirus, we are adjusting our CSA plan for the season. See details below.
The CSA supports our core belief that community is integral to the life of our farm.
Our CSA offers you an opportunity to be part of our grassroots food community and share the year's bounty with us. You receive clean food, grown without pesticides, herbicides, fungicides, or genetically modified seeds. We are choosing to start our CSA early this year to accommodate the growing desire for farm direct food. Our CSA shares offer farm fresh food for 29 weeks , starting in May and ending in November. You will eat produce at its best, full of flavor and fresh from the field.
To minimize our customers possible exposure to the Coronavirus, we are switching to prepacked CSA boxes which will protect your food from the touch of strangers as well as speed up the pick-up process. We are also adding home deliveries and on farm pick-up to give options for people to get food in a way that feels comfortable. On the farm we are focused on staying healthy, emphasizing cleanliness when handling your food, and sterilizing CSA containers.
While we are dealing with the Coronavirus, we will do our best to create a safe and friendly environment. We farmers' are used to adjusting to life's various challenges, and we will do the same with this.
This share is perfect for those who like to prepare most of their meals with farm fresh produce each week. We include lots of food staples like carrots, salad mix, cooking greens and potatoes as well as exciting seasonal treats like berries, corn, peppers, and melons. Our CSA is delivered in pre-packed totes to minimize handling. You will receive weekly emails giving you a list of your share contents as well as allowing you to choose some of the items you will receive. Our goal is to deliver you safe and healthy food that you are excited to eat! We deliver to 2 Corvallis locations, offer on-farm pick-up, and home delivery is available for an additional cost.

"I LOVE the personable, friendly nature of the CSA farmers, how they immediately got to know all of us, called us by name every week, and engaged us in conversation nearly every time we came. I felt extremely welcome and definitely part of the family."
Season length & Pick-up locations: Our CSA season starts early May and goes until late November. Pick up days and locations are: Thursday South town Corvallis & home deliveries, Friday on farm pick-up in Kings Valley, and Saturday at Corvallis farmers' market.
Vacation Policy: It's summer, you will go on vacation, and we will wish you well and expect souvenirs. We will give you 2 weeks worth of vacation credit. This credit can be used at a farmers' market, you may order more food in following weeks, or order bulk items like tomatoes for canning or basil for pesto. Another option is to have a friend pick up your share for you while you are gone. If you take more than 2 weeks vacation, you either forfeit those weeks or have to give them as a gift to a friend.
What to expect in your share: Here are some examples of CSA shares throughout the season.
May~ Salad mix, radishes, cauliflower, kale, herbs, baby choi, and scallions
June~ Sugar peas, carrots, basil, zucchini, spinach, new potatoes, and broccoli
July~ Cherry tomatoes, cauliflower, green beans, celery, basil, cucumbers, and salad mix
August~ Slicer tomatoes, cucumbers, sweet bell peppers, carrots, head lettuce, cabbage, and corn
September~ Berries, melons, frying peppers, summer squash, onions, edamame, spinach, and tomatoes
October~ Broccoli, kale, salad turnips, potatoes, garlic, carrots, herbs, and corn
November~ Brussel sprouts, winter squash, carrots, cauliflower, salad mix, and leeks
Selection Policy: In the past we have allowed and encouraged our CSA members to swap items they receive in their shares if they are undesirable for whatever reason. Food waste is one of our biggest pet peeves! In lieu of the Coronavirus, we are adjusting our swapping arrangement for a system with less handling of produce. This new CSA system will include weekly emails which inform members of share items. This format will also include options where members may choose some of the items they will receive. If you don't wish to be bothered with making food choices each week, you will receive the default box, which will be delicious. We hope that this new system will tend to our health and food safety concerns, while still allowing our members some choice of what they will receive in their share.
